*CPES 2220: A course of 35 lectures, first given at
the Flinders University <http://www.flinders.edu.au> of South Australia
during the second half of 2004.*

This web site presents the material to /Science, Civilization and
Society/ as it was developed for the course. It is still in preliminary
form. Most illustrations still require copyright clearance and are
therefore not visible on the public site; they will become visible once
copyright permissions have been granted.

The course will be given for the third time in August - October 2006,
which will lead to minor changes and some major amendments as time goes
on. In its present form the material can be considered version 2.0.
