     African History  Notebook is a series of programs that will appear on The African History Notebook with host Clyde Ahmad Winters over a three month period beginning March 15,2011.  The host of the program is Dr. Clyde Ahmad Winters. Dr. Winters is the Director of the Uthman dan Fodio Institute.

       Clyde Winters Ph.D, is Director of the Uthman dan Fodio Institute. He has taught Linguistics at Saint Xavier University and in the College of Education at Governors State University.

       Dr. Winters is the author of numerous articles and books on education, ancient history, anthropology and  Archaeogenetic Studies. His work has appeared in the Journal of Black Studies, Afrique Historique,  Journal of African Civilization, BioEssays, Proceedings of the National Academy of Science,  Adolescence,  International Review of Education, Yearbook of Correctional Education, The Journal of Correctional Education, Thresholds in Education, and TCRecord to name a few. Dr. Winters is the author of a number of books including Teaching  Ancient Afrocentric History, Atlantis in Mexico (History of the African Olmecs), and Afrocentrism: Myth or Reality.  Dr. Winters most recent book is Brain Based Learning and Special Education . Presently, he is working on archaeogenetics of African civilizations and people.

 

     This series of programs will be divided into three parts. The first part of the series will discuss the rise of Black civilizations in Africa and the Diaspora. Part 2, will discuss and explore the history of Black civilizations in the Americas from 30,000 years ago (30kya) up to the Pre-Classic Blacks of Mexico, the Akan American Empire and the Olmec empires. In part 3 we will discuss the history of writing in Africa from the Thinite script up to the Vai and Indus Valley writing systems.
