Professor of electrical engineering, _Don Scott_, will discuss the electric Sun hypothesis, in which the Sun is understood to be a sphere of discharging plasma, or ball lightning. And _Wallace Thornhill_ will present an overview of the electric universe, from macrocosm to microcosm, with emphasis on the crescendo of new evidence from space. Topics will include patterns of planetary instability and large-scale catastrophe within our solar system. Several presenters will suggest catastrophes so recent as to have affected cultures around the world. _David Talbott_, together with his colleagues _Dwardu Cardona_, _Ev Cochrane_, _Wal Thornhill_ and _Michael Armstrong_ will discuss the convergence of ancient astronomical testimony, implying violent changes in the planetary system and great spectacles in the heavens. Also, massive new evidence for continental-scale "lightning scars" on the surfaces of planets and moons could well change our approach to planetary geology and to the human past. This will be an interdisciplinary gathering and exploration of new possibilities for deepening human understanding, both in the sciences and in the comparative study of ancient cultures and religions. _FEATURED SPEAKERS _(in alphabetical order)_:_ _Ralph Abraham _Professor of Mathematics at the University of California at Santa Cruz and author of more than 20 texts, he has been active on the research frontier of dynamics and chaos theory since 1960. He has been a consultant on chaos theory and its applications in numerous fields (medical physiology, ecology, mathematical economics, psychotherapy, etc.) and is a founding editor of the technical journals _World Futures_, and the _International Journal of Bifurcations and Chaos_. _Amy Acheson _Editor of the electronic newsletter, [14]THOTH, author of numerous articles. Educated in astronomy, she is known for her accurate and persuasive summaries of the work of Halton Arp and Wallace Thornhill for the intellectually curious who may not have formal training in astronomy or physics. _Mel Acheson_ Educated in astronomy, author of numerous articles, his wit and insight will give you both a chuckle and something to think about. His editorials are a regular feature in THOTH. _Michael Armstrong _Long-time student of planetary catastrophics, and lecturer on the Electric Universe, the Saturn Model, and the implications for origins, philosophy, and theology, he is publisher/producer of video and newsletter work related to the science of catastrophics. _Halton Arp _One of the worlds most accomplished astronomers, formerly affiliated with the California Institute of Technology. The radical implications of his observations resulted in his being denied telescope time, forcing him to find refuge in Germany, where he is now in residence at the Max Planck Institute in Munich. Author of _Seeing Red_; _Quasars, Redshifts, and Controversies_; and _Atlas of Peculiar Galaxies_. _Dwardu Cardona _An investigator of planetary catastrophics for more than 30 years, with special interest in the Saturn Model. Author of numerous articles on the roots of world mythology. Currently the editor of " AEON, A Journal of Myth, Science, and Ancient History." _Ev Cochrane _Comparative mythologist with more than 20 years of research into planetary catastrophics. Author of _Martian Metamorphoses_, a study of the warrior hero, as interpreted by the Saturn Model. Currently publisher of "AEON, A Journal of Myth, Science, and Ancient History." _Ted Holden _His lectures on "The Impossible Dinosaurs" were among the most popular at our prior world conferences. He offers simple and persuasive arguments that some dinosaurs were simply too large to have survived in our present gravitational environment. _Bruce Lipton _Professor of Anatomy, author of dozens of research publications, co-author of _Muscle Regeneration_, Dr. Lipton is featured in the video _The Biology of Belief_. This seasoned lecturer will be talking about the biology of consciousness and how perception actually shapes genetics and cell viability. _Anthony Peratt _Associate Director for Experimental Programs at Los Alamos, studied under Nobel prize-winner Hannes Alfven. He is perhaps the most respected of today's pioneers in the study of plasma cosmology and the effects of electrical currents across great distances in space. Author of _Physics of the Plasma Universe_ and numerous articles. _C.J. Ransom_ Executive Director of Cosmos & Chronos, a tax-exempt organization created for supporting research and dissemination of information associated with discontinuous changes in the solar system that may have occurred in the recent past. Cosmos & Chronos published the journal _Kronos_ and is publishing a series of books called the Osiris Series, edited by Dwardu Cordona. Dr. Ransom is the author of _The Age of Velikovsky_ and has contributed articles to various publications. _Donald Scott _Retired professor of electrical engineering at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, he is known for his cogent presentations on the "electric sun." In addition to his talk, he will be the emcee of our seminar. Author of _An Introduction to Circuit Analysis A Systems Approach_, and an extensive and important website. _Rupert Sheldrake _Author of _A New Science of Life, The Presence of the Past, The Rebirth of Nature, Seven Experiments That Could Change the World_, this revolutionary thinker has probably done more than any other to challenge the reductionism in the scientific disciplines, especially those of the life sciences. His work intersects with that of Ralph Abraham, Bruce Lipton and Wal Thornhill. _David Talbott _Comparative mythologist whose work offers a radical new vantage point on the origin of ancient cultural themes and symbols. His research has been the primary catalyst behind the "[15]Saturn Model," and is the subject of the feature documentary, " [16]Remembering the End of the World ." Author of _The Saturn Myth_ and a forthcoming volume, _Thunderbolts of the Gods_ (co-authored with Wallace Thornhill). _Wallace Thornhill _Australian physicist. His work on " [17]The Electric Universe" provides the broadest synthesis of electrical principles to date, ranging across solar system history, planetary cratering and scarring, the dynamics of the sun, and the nature of galaxies. _Additional Special Guests _As part of our scholarly and scientific outreach, several additional guests will be present as observers, including a linguist, an Egyptologist, a professor of classics, and other centers of influence. As we continue this outreach, your personal recommendations will always be welcome. Send your suggestions for consideration in future planning to: [18]liaison. Program Changes Though all listed speakers are committed at this time, attendance of any given speaker cannot be guaranteed against unforeseen circumstances.
