Gould and Immanuel Velikovsky, Essays in the Continuing Velikovsky Afafair" with sections written by Charles Ginenthal, Irving Wolfe, Lynn Rose, Dwardu Cardona, David Talbott, and Ev Cochrane, and edited by Dale Ann Pearlman. This one is a major bombshell and a total expose of establishment science and the manner in which it came unglued and has remained unglued in its inability to deal with Immanuel Velikovsky's challenge to its own worldview. Chapters include: 1. The Original Velikovsky Affair, by Irving Wolfe. 2. The A.A.A.S. Symposium on Velikovsky by Charles Ginenthal. 3. The AAAS Afair from 20 Years After by Lynn Rose. 4. Henry Bauer and Immanuel Velikovsky by Charles Ginenthal. 5. Beneath Bauer by Irving Wolfe. 6. All Honorable Men, Journalists and Scientists as Misrepresenters by Charles Ginenthal. 7. Cometary Venus by Dwardu Cardona. 8. Bob Forrest and Venus as a Comet in World Mythology by David Talbott and Ev Cochrane. 9. Asimov in Absurdity by Charles Ginenthal. 10. Pompous Asimov by Irving Wolfe. 11. Stephen J. Gould and Immanuel Velikovsky by Charles Ginenthal. 12. A Rage to Deny; the Roots of the Velikovsky Affair by Irving Wolfe. 13. From Calendars to Chronology by Lynn E. Rose. 14. Transcripts of the AAAS Symposium on Velikovsky, 1/25/74 by Lynn E. Rose. None of the well known critics of Velikovsky escape unscathed other than, perhaps, Carl Sagan who, as Wolfe notes, is massively dealt with (aced, laced, re-aced, disgraced, effaced, debased, and erased etc.) in Charles Ginenthal's recent book on the subject. It is clear that leading members of the scientific establishment have been guilty of reprehensible and, in all likelihood, criminal conduct, and that they have conducted themselves in a manner best described as mass hysteria while simultaneously, for the most part, managing to intimidate the American press and prevent the full scope of their activities from having been known. The conduct and tactics of those following in the footsteps of the Shapeleys and Geposchkins over the years have improved marginally if at all, as is documented. Moreover, academic inertia being what it is, the name Velikovsky remains a tabu word in most parts of academia, even while a sort of a watered-down catastrophism begins to appear in places, forced by the weight of evidence which continues to pile up. The current version of the book runs to about 800 pages and is expensively bound. A future version in the hands of a major publisher would probably be more like 450-500 pages. Those who wish to order the book should make all checks payable to Charles Ginenthal. In the U.S. send 35 dollars plus $2.95 for shipping and handling.
