Smithfield would have told you that there was too much static
electricity floating around in 1957, but for sure he would have not
enjoyed living in ancient times; there was a lot _MORE_ of it floating
around back then.

That's a strange-sounding claim, but it is backed up by massive
scholarship. Al DeGrazia maintains a [1]WWW site from which, for the
cost of production ($10), you might order a copy of what he terms a

The more powerful electrostatic and electromagnetic nature of the
Earth in ancient times was occasioned by and itself was the cause of a
number of phenomena which divide the ancient world and our world into
fundamentally different kinds of realities, resulting in the present
FUBAR state of virtually every branch of science which attempts to
make sense out of prehistoric conditions. A proper understanding of
ancient realities, particularly as they are effected by the
electrostatic nature of our planet in the recent past, will provide a
rational view of our own history and our own nature, and a rational
understanding of a large number of phenomena which, viewed from the
confines of current paradigms, appear merely as an increasingly large

[4]The Anomaly of Astral Religions and Planetary Gods

As Plato and others note, the ancients recognized a spiritual God much
as we do, but they also recognized the various planetary gods, and all
of their religions and ceremonies were basically astral in nature. The
associations of the names of those gods and of the planets are, in
fact, primordial. The problem is this: If a group of primitive people
were to attempt to establish an astral religion today, the two things
which they would unerringly end up worshipping as chieftain gods would
be the sun and the moon. The two chieftain gods in all ancient
religions, however, were those whose names were associated with the
planets Jupiter and Saturn.

200-lb. eagles with 25' wingspans in our present world; it did in

The Baalbek stones represent another phenomenon which would be
impossible given present realities with respect to gravity. What makes
this interesting, is that the Baalbek stones were obviously created
within the age of man. In other words, the gravitational attenuation
which allowed dinosaurs to live persisted until well within the age of
man on Earth. That should raise an immediate question regarding the 70
million years which are supposed to separate the age of dinosaurs from
our age; if the change in gravity which guaranteed their demise
occurred within the age of man, then phenomena such as the Ica stones
and the report from the Doheney expedition to Hava-Supai, the oral
traditions which Vine DeLoria notes amongst American Indian tribes,
and other similar non-PC evidence of man and dinosaurs coexisting,
have to be taken seriously.

The Nature of Gravity (The Experiment Which Broke Relativity)

If you assume that the largest elephants are the largest animals
possible in our present world, and if you accept McGowan's 180 ton
figure for the ultrasaur and equate the two, i.e. if you assume that
the sauropod could have "felt" no heavier than the largest elephant
feels now at 7 or 8 tons, then you get a factor of about 2.7 to one
between the acceleration due to gravity in our world and in the
ultrasaur's world. Even accepting the lightest figures ever published
for ultrasaurs, supersaurs, seismosaurs etc., you would still get a
required attenuation of gravity too great to be accounted for by any
possible cosmic alignment, interaction with other bodies, or
accumulation of mass on our planet between then and now. The only
possibility remaining, is that there is something fundamentally wrong
with our basic understanding of gravity. That in fact turns out to be
the case, as Ralph Sansbury describes.

Jaynsian Phenomena

Who was Julian Jaynes? Unfortunately, I don't really have much of an
answer to that one, other than that he wrote a single book, "The
Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind" which,
in my view, will be regarded, along with Velikovsky's "Worlds in
Collision", as one of the two major pieces of academic work of this
century. He taught at Princeton, which seems to have been attracting
more than its share of genius-level talent at the time.

Jaynes made (and massively documented) the astonishing claim that the
entire manner in which the human mind works is now totally different
from the manner in which it worked 4000 years ago. He [18]documented
this in literature and in other ancient works from the behavior being
described, and also demonstrated the neuro-physiological basis of the
former behavior modality in the right-brain analog to the Wernicke
(speech) area on the left side of the human brain.

No review of "Origin of Consciousness" really does it justice; you
need to obtain a copy and read it, and there are numerous sites on the
WWW which deal with the subject, e.g.:

There are many others. Jaynes assumes an evolutionary model (he was
not a catastrophist in any sense), and generally describes a period of
time from around 2000 BC or thereabouts until the time of the
classical Greeks. He assumes that mankind had evolved into a modality
and paradigm of thought and behavior which he terms "bicameral", and
describes a number of phenomena, including idolatry, hypnotism,
schizophrenia, prophecy etc. as bicameral in nature, i.e. as
throwbacks to the old regime. He states that what we would call
schizophrenia would have been called normal 4000 years ago.

He generally describes a state in which human societies were governed
by a system of what he termed "auditory hallucinations", a sort of an
organized and coherent _group-think,_ kind of condition.

Where Jaynes Went Wrong

The bicameral system was intensely disfunctional. A village consisting
of 200 people heeding inner voices would amount to 200 "Sons of Sam"
running around, and it would not get better going from villages to
cities to nations. The Bible, the Illiad, and other literature
describe a world gone mad:

Idolatry is viewed with the horror which we read in the old testament
precisely because it turned the entire world into an insane assylum
for a thousand years. The idols actually spoke to the people, as
Jaynes describes and, [23]for reasons which Jaynes also does a
remarkable job of documenting, the people had no option but to obey.
Fighting wars and sacraficing children at the command of stone and
wooden idols, is not a formula for success in life.

This then is the first big problem with Jaynes' theory: you cannot
evolve into a disfunctional state. Evolution, to the extent which it
works at all (microevolution), does not work in such a manner. It is a
stepwise process, and each step has to be caused by some gain in
functionality or advantage over the previous.

The bicameral system in fact became progressively more disfunctional
until the very ability to use the human mind in the manner in which
jaynes describes was ground straight out of the human race by a rapid
process of attrition and, like the ostrich's wings, became vestigial,
appearing only on rare occasion in a throwback like Joan of Ark or
David Berkowicz. It finally got so bad that, as Jaynes notes, the
prophet Zechariah admonished parents to simply kill children who
persisted in trying to use their minds the old way:

ZEC 13:3 And it shall come to pass, that when any shall yet
prophesy, then his father and his mother that begat him shall say
unto him, Thou shalt not live; for thou speakest lies in the name
of the LORD: and his father and his mother that begat him shall
thrust him through when he prophesieth.

The second problem with Jaynes' theory, is that he did not look into
the age just prior to that he describes or into any of what is
generally perceived as mythology, to try to determine whether or not
the bicameral age itself might have represented a _DEVOLUTION_ from a
previous age in which these same kinds of capabilities might have been
entirely functional and, in fact, have amounted to the normal means of
human communication and thought.

Electricity Again

Jaynes describes the Egyptian notion of _Ka_
as a bicameral phenomenon. DeGrazia and Crossthwaite (the pdf files
included at the top of this page) document the fact that Ka and
similar phenomena were electrical in nature, and you should not need
to be Albert Einstein to put two and two together. The one caused or
enabled the other. The breakdown of the bicameral system, which Jaynes
does not really do a good job of providing a cause for, was occasioned
by the breakdown of the electrostatic nature of the Earth itself.

Lisa Aaronson informs me that the Jewish council at the time of
Zechariah asked the Lord to remove the curse of idolatry from the
world and that the Lord did this, but that prophecy was lost at the
same time. Again putting two and two together, you have to figure that
all Jaynsian/bicameral phenomena would have ceased at the same time if
they were in fact enabled by a former electrostatic nature of the
world, and that electrostatic nature collapsed. DeGrazia and
Crossthwaite, in noting the manner in which electrostatic phenomena
were isolated to particular areas and locations in classical Greek
times, are simply noting the final stages of the electrostatic
collapse.

[25]The Anomaly of Oracles

Jaynes also came within a hair's breadth of answering the question of
whether or not somebody like Joan of Arc could possibly be connecting
with real information. Oracles such as those at Delphi may have.
Afterwards, with the electrostatic breakdown, it got harder.

Idols and Hypnotism

Jaynes claims that a number of phenomena, including hypnotism,
idolatry, prophesy, and schizophrenia, are throwbacks to an ancient
regime which he terms "bicameralism". Given that, you might expect
features of one of these things to be found in another here and there.
Certain idols, in fact, appear to be created with an _eye_ towards
hypnotic effect. Check the eyes on the two specimens above.

[26]The Anomaly of Biblical Codes

This one is not the familiar claim of cryptic messages or prophecy in
the Bible. Rather, it is a claim, apparently well-documented, that the
bible itself is simply written in a manner which would be beyond the
mental capacity of modern man to duplicate. The claim is that similar
words and phrases and phrases with similar meanings are represented by
entirely similar numeric representations when you view the Hebrew
letters of which they are comprised as numbers (which they also
represented in the same manner in which the familiar Roman numeral
system works). The claim is that God produced the bible since man
could not. Another possibility, which is nearly the same thing, is
that men whose minds were one with eachother, with the planet, and
with the spirit realm, wrote the Bible. In other words, while an
individual human might not be bright enough to do something like that,
a planetary mind comprised of the combined intelligence of all living
things on the planet might be.

This is not terribly different from the manner in which something like
the Yale University LINDA system might seek to produce a poor-man's
super computer out of many little VAX systems networked together. You
simply divide a task into many little jobs and put them into a job-jar
file, and have each VAX check the job-jar for the next thing to do
when it finishes whatever it was doing.

The Anomaly of Change in the Biosphere

The theory of evolution, at this point in time, has been massively
discredited. You can check out [27]my own pages on the topic, the
pages linked from them, the various scholarly treatises referenced or
simply do searches on the WWW starting with the word "evolution".
Contrary to what you might expect, given that evolution is still the
official position of the NEA and the public school monopoly as well as
of most university biology departments, you will find reasoned
argument and logic on the side of the anti-evolutionists, ad-hominem
and desparation on that of the evolutionists.

Nonetheless, change _DID_ occur in biological forms in past ages, and
the overwhelming evidence is that, when it did occur, it occurred very
rapidly. New kinds of creatures always appear in the fossil record
with no antecedants or evolutionary trail of any sort and there is no
reason, based on evidence, to ever assume that any of those changes
took more than one or two generations. That basically says
bio-engineering, and not evolution. This is another evidence of a
former planetary intellect; the intelligence needed to do that sort of
thing arose from the pooling of intellectual powers which has just
been described.

Anomalies Involving the Neanderthal

Gunnar Heinsohn, one of Europe's leading scholars, [28]notes that
there is no reason based upon evidence to assume that the change from
neanderthal to modern man took more than one or two generations and,
as noted above, you have to regard such a change as evidence of
bio-engineering or re-engineering rather than as evidence of any sort
of a long sequence of events driven by stochastic processes and guided
by "natural selection", which is what we call evolution.

While neanderthals may have [29]appeared reasonably similar to us,
scientists had long been puzzled by the total lack of any evidence of
crossbreeding and, finally, two summers ago, they found out why. DNA
samples extracted from neanderthal teeth indicated that their DNA was
"about halfway between ours and that of a chimpanzee".

It's fairly obvious why evolutionists don't like to talk about this
one; that leaves the planet without anything resembling a plausible
evolutionary antecedent for modern man. The most obvious solution
would be to say that there must have been some hominid intermediary
between the neanderthal and modern man. Such a creature moreover, in
overwhelming likelihood, would have to stand closer to us in time than
the neanderthal and, since we find neanderthal remains and works all
over the place, would have to have left plentiful evidence.
Nonetheless, there is no evidence of such a thing on the planet; all
other hominid remains are further removed from us THAN the
neanderthal.

This leaves the evolutionists with one possible fallback position,
i.e. to claim that the neanderthal is a cousin and not an ancestor,
and that modern man AND the neanderthal arose from some common or
similar ancestors, at about the same time. This presents a worse
problem than before: the evolutionist then has to explain how the
neanderthal held Europe against modern man for 200,000 years. The well
known propensity of modern man to quickly overpopulate entire regions
and then ease the population pressure by migration and conquest would
not have been different in prehistoric times, and there is no way to
picture anything with DNA "halfway between ours and that of a
chimpanzee" prevailing against such a force. The final fallback
position of the evolutionist amounts to something altogether similar
to imagining a tribe of monkeys prevailing against the combined armies
of Germany, England, and France, for 200,000 years.

Again, the only really plausible solution, given the facts, lies in
some form of bio-engineering. Either some sort of a planetary mind or
the creatures themselves, pooling their intelligence, managed to
change their morphology within one or two generations.
