We attempt here to align the proposed events into a coherent timeline; one which respects both the physical evidence and the human cultural evidence. The discussion begins with a review of the temperature of the earth's atmosphere, as inferred by others from the ice core samples taken from the Greenland and Antarctic ice caps. These ice caps contain thousands of meters of accreted precipitation, the lower layers of which has been dated back beyond 400,000 years. The general Taurid Complex has been resident in the inner solar system for a period of time which covers the Holocene and the several thousands of years preceding. As discussed in the Comet Morphology <../technology/comets/index.html> section, a paper by Steel, Asher, and Clube describes a proposed evolution of the complex of cosmic debris. A note first on ?timing.? A valid question relates to the statistically validity of such a singular catastrophic series of events occurring in our recent historic past, considering the earth?s age at over 4 Billion years. Why now? We consider the following to be the appropriate response: The hypothesis suggests that the stabilization of the earth?s climate was driven by the Perigee: Zero event sequence. Therefore, the rapid development of civilization can be considered a direct result of the PZ series. A valid premise would be that had the events occurred 50,000 years ago, civilization would be 35,000 years ahead today. Conversely, had the impact sequence not occurred, mankind would today consist of tribes of hunter-gathers. Climate has been viewed as a major force in the dramatic changes seen in Human Civilization over the last 10,000 years. Some of the pertinent details are discussed by Dr Benny Peiser in his essay /Climate change and civilization collapse //./ Figure 1 displays the variations in the temperature of the lower atmosphere over the last 400,000 years. The variability is quite extreme, compared to the stability seen in more the recent past ("global warming" included). temperature_400k_years_sm *Figure 1*- Global Climate over past 400,000 years A detailed look at the most recent 50,000 years (Figure 2), demonstrates how the temperature has inexplicitly ?flat-lined? since 10,000 years ago (BP). Using this chart, we hypothesis that the impact sequences began 17,000 years ago, with a second event at 13,000 BP. We interpret the stabilization at 10,000 BP as being indicative of a massive series of impacts occurring at that point. At regular intervals of ~2300 years, we expect to see additional series of impacts. The last series is fairly well placed from ~480AD until ~1050AD temperature_50k_years *Figure 2*- Global Climate over past 50,000 years The hypothesis suggest that the startling stabilization of the earth?s climate since 10,000 years ago was driven by significant increase in available water on the planet. The forms are both as greater ocean surface area and the presence of millions of new freshwater bodies. The 50k-year climate chart (Figure 15) provides a clue to when the majority of this geomorphology occurred. We provide Figure 3 only as an initial "straw man" for the sequence series. The greatest influx is expected to be during the recognized transition into the Holocene, when the sea levels rose by 40 meters in as few as 400 years. timeline *Figure 3*- Global Climate over past 20,000 years The Blytt-Sernander classification has been proposed to offer an interdisciplinary standard for climate periods. The Pleistocene phases and approximate calibrated dates are: ? Older Dryas stadial, 14,000-13600 BP ? Allerød interstadial, 13,600-12,900 BP ? Younger Dryas stadial, 12,900-11,500 BP The Holocene phases are: ? Boreal, cool, dry, rising temperature, 11,500-8,900 BP ? Atlantic, warm, moist, maximum temperature, 8900-5700 BP ? Subboreal, 5700-2600 BP ? Subatlantic, 2600-0 BP mississippi_flood_timeline_sm *Figure 4*- Mississippi Flood Timeline Our current deatiled exploration of the Saginaw manifold, proposes that event occured approximately 14 kya to 18kya. The event may have been the trigger for the Kankakee Torrent <../YDB/Saginaw_Bay/Torrents/index.html>, whose age has not been well established in spiet of it's known massive scale. The dating across the globe will vary slightly, as some events may not have had global impacts relevant to the central NA area of this river. There is evidence that the first meltwater pulse (MWP 1a), occurring at ~12,000BC (14,000 years ago). Recent studies confirm that the sea levels around the world rose extremely rapidly (13.5-24 m) during this time. (Fairbanks, 1989 ; Bard et al., 1990 ; Blanchon and Shaw, 1995 ; Hanebuth et al., 2000 ) The Perigee: Zero treatise suggest that the warming was brought about by the aerodynamic heating of the atmosphere by multiple traversing comet bodies over a period of decades, and by heat generated by the resulting PZ impacts. This warm period was immediately followed by a rapid drop in the earth's atmospheric temperatures, which PZ suggests was the manifestation of the "nuclear winter" effect of the vast amounts of debris and water vapor injected in the upper atmosphere. One area of research (one of thousands, no doubt) that will need much work by others is the association of the proposed event horizons with the calendar and with specific comet body impacts. David Asher has attempted to re-create the Taurid stream history: /Therefore, although the Taurid stream is very broad, at the core of the stream we expect a concentration of meteoroids and cometary fragments, including objects of Tunguska size. As a result of Jupiter?s gravity, the orbit of this central concentration changes over thousands of years, sometimes being brought into intersection with the Earth?s orbit (Figure 1). That is, in 3 dimensions, the central concentration usually misses the Earth?s orbit, but there will be times when it intersects the Earth?s orbit. At these times, the impact frequency on the Earth is much higher. Assuming the parent object is closely related to Comet Encke, it seems that the last intersections were around AD 300 to 500, and before that somewhat earlier than 2000 BC (Figure 1), although there is some uncertainty in these calculations. The most recent intersections may have been a couple of centuries earlier, and the intersections before that could have been as early as 3000 BC. Despite the uncertainty, the calculations always show that there are `dangerous times? lasting a couple of centuries, when there is a greatly increased impact frequency, followed by a few thousand years when the Earth?s orbit is not intersected by the Taurid core. The next intersection in the future will be around AD 3000./ / //From a paper titled/ /Why the Earth impactor influx has varied over human history / by David Asher/ / ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The timeline of Egyptian Dynasties identifies three "intermediate Periods", which we interpret as identifying Perigee: Zero events. The most tantalizing recent discovery, however, was made when scientists made a high-resolution study of dust deposition from Kajemarum Oasis in north-eastern Nigeria. The study conclusively revealed that a pronounced shift in atmospheric circulation occurred in around 2150 BC. This data indicates that an abrupt, short-lived event of cold climate led to less rainfall and a reduction of water flow in a vast area extending from Tibet to Italy.... By Professor Fekri Hassan Published: 2001-06-01, BBC The cold period may represent a "nuclear winter" brought on by a series of PZ impacts. A review of the timeline will show that the Great Pyramids were constructed over the 200 years immediately prior to the events, which we find supportive of the hypothesis that they were constructed as "fall-out" shelters for the elite. It was during this period that the artwork we propose as being Taurid Complex maps <../Enigmas/observation_maps/index.html> was executed. 2100 BC has been identified as a significant period at Stonehenge, with the erection of the Preseli Bluestones <../Enigmas/cultural/stonehenge/index.html>. The second Egyptian Dynasties intermediate period extended from 1786 to 1567 BC, during which at least 70 individuals served as king. The final intermediate period was from 1084 to 747 BC. These may also coincide with PZ series events, causing chaos and frequent struggles for power. The capture of a Taurid Complex objects is expected to have been spread over a centuries-wide period of time at each orbital plane conjuncture <../technology/comets/Comets/CometSlides.html>. Subsequent to earth-orbit capture, we propose that a centuries-scale period of time would pass during which the objects would gradually de-orbit. Over this period humans would observe the ever-increasing danger and begin to react by relocating into caves, overhanging cliff sides and massive structures such as the pyramids,. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ An interesting on-going debate involves the correctness of the currently-accepted AD timeline, effectively the last 2,000 years. Proponents of a re-aligned time sequence point to irregularities in the dating of the general time period know as the "Dark Ages". Generally, this is considered to be a roughly 800 year period from 400 AD until 1200 AD. This period represents a distinctive discontinuity in all forms of record keeping and building construction. Suggestions are being put forward that the period was in actuality considerably shorter, with a 200-300 year "adjustment" having been interjected for a multitude of reasons. The debate is relevant to our time-line. The current sequence of Taurid PZ events, having been spread over that same "dark Ages" period, does seem to have extended for an unreasonable period of time. Additionally, event which seem to correlate in the physical science realm are misaligned by centuries in the realm of human documentation. The 200-300 year discrepancy in not mandated by this research, however. The PZ sequence does expect and document multiple events over a range of time. Note that we will apply the BC/AD reference dating. We acknowledge that geological events are typically referred by their "xxx years ago" nomenclature, however it is more common to refer to historically documented and verified events using the BC/AD notation. the "Before Current Era" (BCE) designation is often applied, but we feel that this structure, using the year 1950 as a "Current Era" date, is just as confusing given that we are 50+ years past that time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ At the present, there is only one significant cometary body left in the Taurid stream ? the comet Encke.
