It is the personal website of Jno Cook, a visual artist. It deals with a variety of topics which are also touched upon here at SOTT/Cassiopaea, from the perspective of the site owner. The approach is different, and, IMO far more orthodox than here. I have yet to read thru his material, but there are some interesting points made: for example, he notes a similarity between the life-spans given for biblical patriarchs and spans of time given for egyptian kingdoms. Quote Saturn moved on a wildly elliptical path around the Sun in the remote past, entering the Solar System at 26 million year intervals. Some time in the last 6 to 3 million years, perhaps after passing close to Jupiter, Saturn was placed in a much closer orbit around the Sun, very near Earth. Then, in about 5800 BC, Saturn in effect captured and held the Earth in a sub-polar position until 3100 BC, when Earth broke away. "The evidence of myth which points to Saturn having once occupied a position above Earth's north polar regions is voluminous. There is not a race on Earth that has not preserved at least one account which states as much. According to this evidence, Saturn occupied a central position in the north celestial regions." "It rotated, and rotated widely; but, other than that, it was immovable. It did not rise, it did not set. It merely became brighter and more glorious each night as the Sun set. This state of affairs seems to have lasted for ages. It is the one single dictum of the ancients from which all other beliefs are derived." -- Dwardu Cardona (1982) What is most interesting about all this is the psychological and cultural reaction of the people of Earth to these events. The last 1000 years of this period (4200 BC to 3100 BC) was remembered as the "Age of the Gods" and subsequent human history has been a singular effort to regain the Paradise of that time. This period was followed by a series of adjustments in planetary orbits, many of which also had significant effects on Earth and on human history. The last of these, in 680 BC, determined the philosophy and beliefs of all of our current religions. Humans changed when Paradise closed -- not just the rapid changes to what we would call civilization, but also the gradual achievement of a subjective consciousness. The response to these events determined how we became fully human. To say it would have happened anyway does not hold up. There could have been any number of other outcomes. I'll touch on this throughout the narrative. i hope you find it informative. Earth is in a close orbit around the Sun, as are all the other planets. The stars are not seen for the next 1700 years. Saturn is mostly obscured, and only near the end of this period starts to show as a giant egg in the sky. This is the era before creation. -- 4186 BC: Saturn lights up -- Saturn goes through a nova event -- a mass discharge which creates its rings and Venus -- and Saturn lights up. This is the moment of 'Creation.' The arc at the point of contact with Earth creates massive cloudbanks and glaciation. Venus is in orbit around Saturn and Mars hangs below. The "Age of the Gods" begins. Mars makes eight 'descents' to Earth. -- 3114 BC: The Gods leave -- Saturn is in a near collision with Jupiter. The "Age of the Gods" ends with the "Flood of Gilgamesh." Plasma discharges between Jupiter and Saturn are seen as the "battle of the Gods." Earth, Mars, and Venus escape to eccentric orbits. Mars, on a slightly larger orbit, partly coincides with Earth's orbit and is seen visiting Earth as Horus ten times for 300 years after 3000 BC. The Gods leave as both Saturn and Jupiter move to orbits farther removed from the Sun. Jupiter stays active and develops a coma. -- 2300, 2200 BC: Noah's Flood -- - 2349 BC: Venus passes above Earth at a close distance causing "Noah's Flood" and changing Earth's orbit. The Moon appears in orbit around Earth. - 2193 BC: (156 years later) Venus again passes close to Earth. The Old Kingdom of Egypt ends and the Akkadian empire falls. - 2050 BC: Mercury makes contact with Earth. The event is told worldwide in legends recalling people losing language or memory. Jupiter probably extinguihes at about this time. -- 1500 BC: Exodus -- - 1492 BC: Venus passes close to Earth during the Exodus of Moses. An arc is struck which circles Earth at about 30 degrees latitude. The Earth's orbit changes. Skies are obscured by heavy clouds for 40 years. - 1440 BC: (52 years later) Venus again comes close to Earth. The Middle Kingdom of Egypt ends. The sun stands still for Joshua. Mesoamerica is destroyed. -- 8th, 7th Century BC: The Start of History -- - 776 BC: A simultaneous visit is made by Venus and Mars (the "ball game"). There continue to be repeated close calls by Mars over a period of 100 years. - 747, 687 BC: Mars twice jars Earth. The Earth's orbit changes. Calendar reforms are made worldwide. - 680 BC: Venus goes nova (the death of Quetzalcoatl). The polar axis and the equinox shift. - 670 BC: Earth's orbit becomes circular. If you've read all the evidence I've compiled in Secret History you'll understand why I can't go on reading. Especially after reading this: Quote Additionally, I should warn that the subject matter here is not physics, biology, or any sort of 'science.' This text is a persuasive essay, but does not offer conclusions based on some string of syllogisms. Like any cosmology, the "Saturnian Cosmology" is based on untestable postulates. Postulates represent reasonable starting points and are not in themselves subject to analysis, only acceptance or rejection. Tests and proofs do not really apply. I feel, however, that the sum total constitutes a cohesive 'world-view.' The real test is to see how much a Saturnian Cosmology can explain of everything from geophysics to contemporary cultural practices. As such, the Saturnian Cosmology not only provides an explanation of the actions and thinking of our ancestors, but also provides insight into our contemporary behaviour, and suggestions about what is important for us as humans. I will note these in passing, but will not expand (preach) on them. My first concern is to provide a narrative and some mechanics. Sorry, but we have a lot more to explain than "the actions and thinking of our ancestors". Besides, there are other ideas better supported by the very things this guy leaves out, i.e. science, that explain not only the actions and thinking of our ancestors, but a lot more besides. Yes, I agree that mainstream science ought to be more open to something other than the uniformitarian view of the world, but just because science is sometimes slow to change doesn't mean it's a good idea to toss it out. If the baby is dirty, bathe it and keep it and toss out the water. This guy has basically tossed out the baby and kept the dirty bathwater. ROTFL 8-) i was just reading thru the website and wondering why, in the list of sumerian kings he has, he states the periods their kingdoms last as "turns" instead of "years" as in the oxford site i posted here some time ago (ETCSL). re your big book, haven't even bought it yet. have enough to read and understand between this site, the C transcripts, surfing randomly, the ponerology book, other books and RL occupations. I beg you to consider that a little hasty. Only using that brief string of quotations is hardly an in-depth perusal or explication of saturn theory advocates. I am sure you have looked more deeply but is there not (at all) in your mind a possible synthesis of knowledge based on some of the principles they are asking you to take as a basis for understanding their theories... I am hoping that you have looked at the associated websites: www.holoscience, www.maverickscience, www.kronia.com, www.haltonarp.com and through a more thorough reading of their back and forth communications in their Thoth newsletter, you can see that their theory is a work in progress.... The symbology of the world tree, the stairway to heaven, their genius explanations of the so-called volcanoes on mars, how plasma discharge interactions much more logically explain the surface features of the "grand canyons" on earth and mars, the "craters" on the moon, etc... The amazing dovetailing of the petroglyphic evidence cannot be ignored. http://public.lanl.gov/alp/plasma/downloads/PerattAntiquityZ.pdf The plasma evidence for the workings of our cosmos are elegant and simple, logically adhering to occam's razor in terms of theory... Hope you respond sincerely Benjamin Logged _________________________________________________________________ Online Laura * Administrator * * * * * * * * * * * Posts: 16,166 * + http://www.laura-knight-jadczyk.com Website: The Saturnian Cosmology « Reply #4 on: March 08, 2007, 11:28:07 AM » No, we have not thrown away the electric universe ideas; in fact, we consider them to be the most reasonable in terms of explaining the nature of the cosmos. But it is one thing to try to understand the nature of the cosmos, and quite another to try to force that explanation onto historical events in such a haphazard way, based on so little research. There are many other views OTHER than the "Saturnian" one. In short, I have no problems dealing with the scientific end of it, just don't send me to read endless nonsense that cherry picks the data.
