(mirrored at http://saturniancosmology.org/npa_talks.htm) We attended the NPA 2011 conference: Jno, Kees, and Alex K. Impressions below of the NPA presentations by the Electric Universe group. This is a short version of a longer text, which is still under edit. Three areas of concern: (1) no progress, (2) scientificism, and (3) no direction. Hopefully the Thunderbolts conference promised for later this year will expand on topics more important than space-plasma. (1) nothing new ... I got the feeling that the whole Thunderbolts group has not advanced one iota since 2001. The evidence for not advancing is mostly from inuendos and avoidances. What wasn't said, spoke the most. Of course all mention of "myth" and "Saturn" were avoided, except as the audience twice introduced the word "Saturn." (2) science ... There seems to be an effort to establish the group as scientifically based and to present themselves as scientists. This was demonstrated with the singular "space plasma" talk topics of Talbott and Thornhill (the Sun, Mars, the stars), and with the addition of six new people -- all reviewing known plasma principles. (3) direction ... It is now ten years since I attended the conference of 2001, and I still do not know what the point is of the website, the forum, the books, the videos. There simply seems to be no direction. Have they become paralyzed? I'll get a more extensive report out later. As will Alex. /jno
