After fifteen or so bounces Opportunity landed in a small crater that contained intriuging evidence of liquid water right out in the open a few feet from the rover. After much discussion, scientists appear to agree that this area was under a salty sea that gradually evaporated, an ideal place to also find fossils. They have even found evidence of a shoreline, which the science director Steve Squyres correctly says may be one of many, due to the shrinking of bodies of water due to evaporation. The 'science team' has not yet been able to determine (a) how such a large body of water could exist on a planet so distant from the Sun with such a thin atmosphere; (b) How long ago the water was present; and (c) Where all the water went. The Velikovsky/Ackerman Scenario Because I have recognized a vast resource of data, namely mythology, my scenario readily answers all of these questions. As a result, you who read this are exposed to really exciting ideas that go far beyond those that will ever be determined by digging around on Mars in the next century. The simplest question is (a). The water and atmosphere obviously existed on priori-Mars when it was in an orbit closer to the Sun. The establishment is blind to this obvious answer even though grade-school children can see it. But to entertain this notion is to throw out the sacred cow of uniformitarianism, opening the door to different interpretations of every piece of data gathered by all the space missions. (b) Planetary scientists, sans moi, believe that this water and the associated atmosphere disappeared some three billion years ago!! When will these intelligent people realize that these features could not possibly be that old. I suggested in recent articles that the threads seen in the soil may be grass roots. There has been no more discussion of these and whether more have been seen in the soil farther from the landing site. Maybe because they realize that such tenuous evidence could not exist for billions of years. Mars was a living planet, not only with water, air, flora and fauna, but with intelligent life far beyond our own within the last 6,000 years. In Firmament I give the evidence that super-intelligent, the biblical 'eloyhim, existed on priori-Mars, came across the short distance between the two planets (30,000 km) during the Vedic period and genetically 'created' Homo Sapiens Sapiens in their image. (c) During this same period vast quantities of rock and dust were blasted into space by convulsions in priori-Mars interior. These convulsions carried the atmosphere and water of priori-Mars to the Earth, leaving it almost devoid of both, while at the same time reinvigorating the sickly Earth. The staging of the one hundred periods of capture and release in geosynchronous orbit around the Earth is the reason for the multiple coastlines on Mars. In the periods between these encounters priori-Mars, in a solar orbit, reformed into a semi-normal planet, with the oceans settling down to establish new coastlines. Other Spectaculars See the March 2004 Newsletter on this website for discussions of two new findings dealing with the 'gas giants.' A wide band of blue is reported to have filled up the entire south equatorial belt of Jupiter. Enormous levels of solar X-rays are being reflected from Saturn and Jupiter. It is difficult to rationalize this with the gaseous makeup claimed for these giant planets. More on Comets The whole idea of the origin and makeup of comets has again been called into question. The close flyby of comet Wild produced the best pictures yet of a comet nucleus. These have recently been combined using very sophisticated image enhancement techniques. They reveal a large rocky body with many gas vents and craters. This comet is similar to the recently photographed comet Borrelly. The basically rocky makeup of comets was further corroborated by spectroscopic evidence that a large mass of doubly ionized carbon, ~5x107 kg, (110 million lbs) was shed by the comet Kudo-Fujikawa in a single 'disconnection event.' If this much carbon in the detached chunk of the comet was doubly ionized, there must be a much greater mass which was not ionized, in other words, a large refractory body, greater than 110 billion lbs can be inferred from this data. I maintain that the short period comets are large rocky bodies from near the surface of priori-Mars that were ejected into space in the last 6000 years. The vented gases are issuing from aquifers which are slow to give up their water, explaining the fact that water is still present. But they certainly could not have been venting this much gas for the last 4.5 billion years, as would be the case if they were primordial.
